Northern Saskatchewan is known for lots of bears and big ones too! This outfitter conducts baited hunts in both spring and fall. Success rates since 1990 have been 100% for the spring hunts and 90-95% for the fall hunts. Each year hunters take bears over 400 pounds with 20 inch skulls. Approximately 20% of the bears are color phase (brown, cinnamon, chocolate).
The hunting territory is comprised of forest fringe and agricultural lands. In fact, some spot and stalk hunting is done in farm fields during September. Trail cameras are utilized at bait sites to give guides and hunters a “true picture” of what is visiting the site.
Hunts are conducted at the main lodge as well as at portable tent camps to hunt the more remote areas which allows the harvest to be spread out. Treestands are set up for rifle, muzzleloader or archery hunters. Travel to the hunting area can be by boat, ATV or 4×4 vehicle.
Fishing can be added to both the spring and fall hunts at no extra cost. Walleye, pike and perch are available. Good numbers of fish and some pike up to 14 pounds have been caught.
There is no draw for non-resident hunting licenses. Approximate cost of bear license is $155. GST and accommodation tax is between 3 and 6 %.
Includes: meals, lodging, outfitting guides, trophy care and field transport. Hunter’s fly into Saskatoon, rent a vehicle and drive 3.5 hours to camp. The drive is all on paved roads except for the last 4 miles.
We can book a group size of five or less.
