Hunt New Mexico’s Florida Mountains for Persian (Bezoar) Ibex. This is the only place in North America where you can hunt pure-blood free-ranging ibex. Introduced from Iran in 1970, these cliff dwelling goats have adapted well to the rugged Florida Mountains.
Please take note of the new nanny qualifier hunt. Everyone that kills two nannies will be eligible for a special billy hunt in 2014 and the draw odds are expected to be in the 11-14% range versus the normal 2/3 of 1 %. We can also offer a huge discount on the special billy hunt to hunters that book both the nanny hunt and special billy hunt through us. Please call or email for pricing.
Tags are obtained by drawing and if you are fortunate enough to draw one, we can book you with the premier ibex outfitter in New Mexico. The rifle billy hunt is a once-in-a lifetime tag so your choice of an outfitter is critical. None of the other hunts are once-in-a-lifetime. Our outfitter’s guides have over 75 years combined experience guiding ibex hunters. In fact their hunters have taken the top 3 archery Persian Ibex worldwide and 6 of the top 10 archery ibex in addition to many of the top rifle and muzzleloader ibex.
Hunts are conducted in the Florida Mountains of southern New Mexico. This is a physically demanding hunt and hunters should arrive in good shape.
Hunting can be done with bow, muzzleloader or rifle depending on what hunt code you draw. Shot opportunity has been 90% with bow and 100% with muzzleloader and rifle. Most rifle shots are under 275 yards and the muzzleloader shots are under 150 yards. Scopes, in-line ignition and sabots are permitted on the muzzleloader hunt. The majority of the successful bow shots are between 25 - 50 yards.
Draw odds have been increasing in recent years due to the entire license fee of $1637 being required at the time of application. License application is due March 20, 2013 and the results will posted online on April 24, 2013. There is no preference point system in New Mexico and the ibex are not subject to the resident-nonresident allocation system. So, every year every applicant has an equal chance of drawing a license.

Here is your chance to hunt oryx (gemsbok) without leaving the US. In addition to making a stunning trophy for your den, the meat is considered to be among the best of all wild game. The oryx population on the White Sands has been drastically reduced the past few years and this hunt is no longer the slam dunk it once was.
Quick facts: Oryx were introduced to New Mexico from 1969-1977 via the Kalahari Desert in Africa. Both bulls and cows grow impressive horns and both are legal game. They have no specific breeding period but instead breed year round.
White Sands Missile Range Hunts - We have several outfitters in New Mexico that offer top-notch oryx hunts on the White Sands Missile Range. If you are lucky enough to draw an oryx tag, give us a call and we can discuss options. We can also recommend the best hunt codes prior to applying.
All White Sands hunts are 1×1 and prices range from $1500 to $2500 depending upon the level of service you require. Shot opportunity has been 100% regardless of what hunt option you choose. License cost is $1637 and the deadline to apply is March 20, 2013 - draw results will be available online on April 24, 2013. Applicants must purchase a $65 NR game License before applying but can denote the refund option if not drawn for oryx. A maximum of two people may apply as a party.
Don’t be confused and worry about choosing the right oryx outfitter, call or email us.
