This outfitter only takes 6 hunters a year. Two hunters can come at the same time and each will have their own guide and dogs. Private land hunt near Sheridan with 99% success rate the past five years.
This an exciting hunt starting with locating a fresh track, listening to the dogs work and then tree the cat. The guide and hunter work their way to the treed cat and determine if the cat is large enough to harvest or if another needs to be located.
Licenses are available over the counter. A hunter’s safety card is required if born on or after January 1, 1966. Airport pick-up and drop off provided by outfitter as is in the field transportation. Lodging is provided in a local motel - meals are not included.
Snow greatly increases the odds of success. This area normally has snow from Nov 15 on but waiting until early December is a safer bet. Also the primary hunting area has an 18 cat quota - when the quota is hit, hunting is shut down. This normally happens in late December.
5 Day Hunt - $4300 (Nov. 15 through end of Dec.)

Once a track is located in the snow, the hounds are set free and the end result is a cat in a tree. Many large cats have been taken.

Snow greatly increases the odds of success. This area normally has snow from Nov 15 on but waiting until early December is a safer bet. Wyoming units have a quota on harvested cats and once the quota is hit, hunting is shut down for the season. This normally happens in late December on the east side of the Big Horn Mountains. This outfitter also hunts the west side of the Big Horns which rarely hits their quota but it is extremely rugged country consequently hunters must be in good shape to hunt the western side.
Includes guide (1 hunter/guide) lodging, meals, transportation during the hunt, delivery of mount to taxidermist, airport pick-up and drop-off (Sheridan airport).
