South Dakota has a reputation for its ringneck pheasant population and this outfitter’s properties live up to that reputation. Hunters typically see hundreds of birds per hunt. With multiple ranches leased, there is plenty of land to hunt and spread out the hunting pressure.
Bring your own dogs or use the outfitter’s. These are 100% wild birds and not pen-raised stock. An added bonus is that sharptail grouse are also in season at the same time - they provide a chance to harvest an unusual trophy for many hunters.
Daily limit is 3 cock birds per hunter and 3 sharptail grouse.
The season runs the 3rd full weekend in October through the end of December. Licenses are available over the-counter and cost $110 for a 10 day license.
Included: meals, lodging (motel), guide, field care of birds.
3 Day Hunt - $1250 (plus 5.5% sales tax).
5 Day Hunt - $1550 (plus 5.5% sales tax).
