Hunt northern Saskatchewan for geese, ducks and grouse. The outfitter is located at the northern most end of the farmland resulting in birds that had little or no hunting pressure ensuring decoying action and” in range “shooting.
Geese: Opportunities include Greater and Lesser Canadas, Speckle-Bellies and Snows with the greater Canadas making up about 80% of the harvest. Most of the goose hunts take place in farmland using both layout and willow blinds and bigfoot and shell decoys. The Specks and Snows generally do not show up until mid -September. All goose hunting is in the morning and hunters get in a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 goose shoots per 5 day hunt.
Ducks: Opportunities include Mallards, Bluebills, Ringnecks, Widgeons, Gadwalls, Pintails, Shovellers, Greenwings, Bluewing Teals, Canvasbacks, Redheads, Goldeneyes and Buffleheads. 90% of the ducks are taken over water. Portable blinds are used for the pond shoots and 18 foot go-devil boats for the open water. Most groups in the course of 5 days will take 10 to 11 different species. Grouse hunting is also available after the September 15 opener. Generally on a 5 day hunt one afternoon will be devoted to hunting ruffed and spruce grouse in the forest.
Included are: meals, lodging and guides. Field transportation may not be included in the hunt as there will be some days when hunters will have to use their own vehicles.
Additional activities include a 10 station clays course to hone your skills and pike fishing at no extra charge.
Approximate cost of license is $130. GST and accommodation tax is between 3 and 6 %.
