Hunt west central Colorado. This is a high country hunt at 10,000 - 12,000 feet elevation. Hunting is on private land or on national forest. This outfitter offers archery, muzzleloader and rifle hunts. Guiding options include guided and semi-guided.

Guided Hunts - require the hunter to arrive in shape for a high altitude hunt. The big bulls are usually in the out-of-the-way places and if you are not in shape, you can’t go after them. If you know you cannot be in shape for the guided hunts, then look into the semi-guided hunts below.

Semi-Guided Hunts – This is a great option to enjoy the Colorado high country without having to be in the best of shape. The outfitter has over 40 stands overlooking food plots and other areas that elk frequent. Hunters are taken to stands via quads and dropped off for their hunt and then picked up.

The semi-guided hunt is on private land. Hunters can apply for an either-sex private land tag for the first rifle season and harvest a cow or a bull - draw odds are 100%.

Shot opportunity on bulls in previous years: archery 70% and muzzleloader 90%.

Base camp consists of modern log cabins. There is a shower room with private showers. Meals are excellent and enjoyed in the large dining room. This hunt provides all the comforts of home after a day in the mountains.

Licenses: Rifle - 1st Season rifle tags are either sex and by draw.  Draw odds run about 50% with no preference points and 100% with one preference point. For semi-guided hunters, the private land tags are either sex and no draw is required.

Muzzleloader – by draw (will need at least 3 preference points) - either sex.

Archery – by draw but has been 100% draw for this unit - either sex.

Non-resident license cost is $579 for bull elk and $354 for cow elk. A $10 habitat stamp is also required.  Application period is February 15 -  April 3.
