Wyoming Elk - Hunt #64-E

Click on a photo to see a larger version.

Here is an outfitter that offers a multitude of options for elk. They hunt in 4 different units on both private and public land. The shot opportunity for all of these hunts has been over 90%.

Please note that the draw odds listed below are based on an applicant buying the more expensive “Special” license and not the “Regular” license. We would encourage hunters looking for a quality elk hunt to apply for a license in one of the units below, especially unit 45. If you don’t have enough points to draw, you may still get lucky and draw one of the random tags. If you don’t draw, you will get a preference point which will increase your drawing odds in future years. The application period for elk is January 1 -31 and the draw results are posted by late February. We will assist you with applying.

All of the tent camps include wall tents with wood and propane stoves for heating and cooking. Cots and mattress are supplied as well as lanterns. A camp cook is also on site.

Check out this offer. If you book an archery elk hunt for the unit 35 or unit 45 hunts and have the Type 1 license and you don’t kill a bull, you can return in rifle season for $1500 for a 3 day hunt and if you need more days, can continue to hunt by paying a very reasonable daily rate.

Crossbows are legal to use during archery and firearm season.

Unit 34 - Private ranch hunt - lodge or cabin based depending on ranch hunted. Very limited number of hunters taken so book early!

The ranches are a favorite wintering spot for elk due to their mild winters, secluded locations, excellent bedding/thermal cover, running water and an abundance of good grass in the meadows. Hunting is done in the morning and evenings via spot and stalk or stand hunting. Mid-day is spent back at the lodge or cabin or hunting antelope. This is not a physically demanding hunt. These ranches hold some tremendous bulls -  some scoring over 350.

Draw odds in 2016 were 100% with three preference points. There were also 12 tags in the random drawing, where everyone regardless of points, has an equal chance to draw.

Includes meals, lodging, 1×1 guiding, field care and skinning of animals, airport shuttle to and from Sheridan airport.

Hunt dates are Oct. 15 - Nov. 15

5 Day Hunt - $7200 includes 1×1 guiding. Can also add an antelope hunt for $1200.

3 Day Cow Hunt - $2450 (ranch hunt, 2×1 guiding)

4 Day Cow Hunt - $2250 (high country hunt not on the ranch, 2×1 guiding)
