This just may be the “perfect” vacation. Take your spouse and/or kids to Hawaii, and while you’re there, partake in a short hunt for Rio Grande turkeys. The hunt takes place on a private ranch that has LOTS of turkeys. Turkey populations have really taken off on the Big Island as there are no natural predators and limited hunting.

A guide from the ranch will assist you in locating the birds which is an easy matter. One guide per hunter is the norm but at times may be one guide per two hunters. 100% shot opportunity in recent years. License is only $50 and can be obtained at the ranch. The license is good for all game including three turkeys.

Hunt includes: use of gun, ammo, snacks and beverages. Meals, lodging and hunting license not included. Hawaiin Airlines has multiple flights per day from Honolulu to Kona International Airport on the Big island. Hunters should fly in the day before their hunt as hunts start early in the morning.

A maximum of four hunters per hunt. Season runs March 1 - March 31. Turkeys are hunted on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays

Full Day Hunt - $700 – one bird
2 ½ Day Hunt - $1300 – two birds
Additional bird - $400 (Hunts subject to Hawaii excise tax of 4.167%) Non-hunting companion may accompany hunter for an additional $50 per day.
