Polynesian Boar

Hunt the Big Island of Hawaii for Polynesian boars. Polynesian boars are known for their ill-tempers and big tusks. This private ranch has a large population of these bristly critters which inhabit the dense forests and the open meadows. Mature boars average 120 pounds with the top end being around 200 pounds and sport up to 6-inch tusks.

One guide per hunter is the norm but at times may be one guide per two hunters. 98% shot opportunity in recent years. License is only $50 and can be obtained at the ranch. The license is good for all game species on the ranch.

Hunt includes: use of gun, ammo, snacks and beverages. Meals, lodging and hunting license not included. Hawaiin Airlines has multiple flights per day from Honolulu to Kona International Airport on the Big island. Hunters should fly in the day before their hunt as hunts start early in the morning.

Meat handling and caping is included with hunts. Mounting taxidermy can be arranged by request. There are only two taxidermists on the island so processing times can be long.

Hunting is available everyday year-round. A maximum of four hunters per hunt.

One day hunt – Cost $800 for a boar or $525 for a “meat pig” (sow or boar without tusks)

Non-hunting companion may accompany hunter for an additional $50 per day. (Hunts subject to Hawaii excise tax of 4.167%)
