Hunt the high country of west central Colorado. Hunting is on private land or on national forest at around 10,000 feet elevation. This outfitter offers archery and muzzleloader hunts. Muzzleloader success rate has been 100%. This area contains some exceptional bucks. Two of the outfitters archers killed bucks scoring 200 and 205 in 2008.
Guiding options include guided and semi-guided.
The guided hunts are conducted on remote national forest land. Hunters must arrive in shape for the guided hunts and be prepared to hunt all day long.
Semi-guided hunts are held on private land out of tree stands or ground stands. This is a great option for hunters not in top condition. Hunters are dropped off and picked up close to their stands. Some stands are set-up for archery hunters providing close shots. Food plots are planted which attract and hold the animals. Archery and muzzleloader seasons are concurrent for mule deer and elk. A combo hunt is available from this outfitter.
Base camp consists of modern log cabins. Hot showers and excellent meals are provided. This hunt provides all the comforts of home after a day in the mountains.
All hunts are 5 Day Hunts. Mule deer license cost is approximately $329. All deer licenses are by draw and not available over-the-counter. Deadline to apply is first Tuesday in April.
Everyone born in 1949 or after MUST have completed an approved hunter education (safety) course sanctioned by a State, County, or Province BEFORE applying for or purchasing a license. Colorado does honor completion of hunter education (safety) courses in other states.
