Colorado Mule Deer - Hunt #49-MD

This hunt is held on private properties that total nearly 25,000 acres in western Colorado. These properties are some of the best in the west when it comes to habitat and game management. Food plots and irrigated alfalfa fields help grow trophy antlers and also draw and hold animals on the properties. The outfitter also has rights to some bordering BLM land.

Two lodges are utilized. The main lodge utilizes multiple ranches for hunting. Lodge “B” sits on a ranch with extensive acreage so the hunting is done right there. Archery, muzzleloader and rifle hunts are held. Hunting is done from stands or by spot and stalk.

Archery and rifle hunters have had approximately a 70% chance of drawing a buck tag with no preference points and a 100% chance of drawing with one preference point. There are also limited landowner vouchers available for no additional fee for those that applied in the drawing and were not drawn. Application deadline is early April.

Shot opportunity has been 95%. Bucks have averaged in the mid-160’s with some bucks scoring 190-200+. Hunters typically see many deer along with trophy bucks.

License cost is $361 plus a $10 habitat stamp. Anyone born after January 1, 1949 must have a hunter education card to apply -  Colorado accepts hunter education cards from other states.

Includes meals, lodging, 2 hunters/guide, field care and skinning of deer.
