This one sells out fast. It is best to book 12-18 months out.

Hunt western South Dakota for trophy mule deer bucks. Multiple game-rich ranches totaling over 100,000 acres are leased by this outfitter. A limited number of hunters are taken and the rifle hunts sell out quickly so please plan accordingly.

Rifle hunting is done by spot and stalk and stand hunting while archers use spot and stalk. The terrain consists of river bottoms, brushy draws, crop fields and food plots. Seeing 50-100 deer a day is not uncommon. This hunt is held in the West River Deer Area west of the Missouri River.

Mule deer rifle tags require a draw with the deadline usually being in April. There is also a 2nd and 3rd application deadline in August for any leftover tags that may be available. A deer preference point can be purchased online from late June until December 15. The cost is $10 for non-residents.

Archery tags are guaranteed and are good for a whitetail or mule deer. The season usually runs from the 3rd week in September through the end of December.

The rifle season starts the 2nd full weekend in November and runs for 16 days.

Included: meals, lodging, 2×1 guiding for rifle hunters and 1×1 for archers, rifle hunters can reserve 1×1 guiding for an additional $200 per day. Closest airport is Rapid City.

Combination hunts offering mule deer / whitetails or mule deer / pheasants are available for an additional fee. 5 day, 2 buck hunt for a whitetail and mule deer is $6850. See Whitetail Hunt #28-WD.
