This outfitter has over 15,000 acres to hunt which consists of a private lease and the adjacent public land he is permitted to hunt. The lease is a mule deer breeding ground and the hunt will be held 3rd rifle season (early November) when the rut is starting to kick in.

This is a good choice of hunts if deer are the primary species and elk are secondary. Past success rates have run 100% for deer and approximately 50% for elk. Snow will help the success rate on elk. There is a good chance of killing a 170+ muley if you are selective. This is not a trophy elk hunt but they do take some very respectable 5 and 6 point bulls. The remoteness and difficulty accessing the public land behind the ranch allows both deer and elk to mature.

Lodging is in a restored historic cabin. There is no running water but hunters can drive 25 minutes to town and shower at the campgrounds if they want to freshen up.

The deer tag can be drawn with no preference points and the elk tag is over-the-counter. License cost for deer is $397 and $662 for bull elk plus a $10 habitat stamp. Anyone born after January 1, 1949 must have a hunter education card to apply – Colorado accepts hunter education cards from other states. Application deadline is April 1.

Includes: meals, lodging, 2×1 guiding, field care of your meat and trophy and delivery of meat to processor.

5 Day Hunt - $5750 + $1000 for a buck scoring over 185.
