Hunt private ranches in western South Dakota for pronghorn antelope.

If sitting on a waterhole isn’t for you, then this hunt may be what you are looking for. The outfitter uses horses to get in close to the antelope by dismounting and hiding behind the horses using the old Jeremy Johnson method. Past clients have experienced 100% shot opportunity under 40 yards with many clients getting multiple shots.

Great mass and good prongs are characteristics of the primary ranch. Bucks average 73-80 with an occasional larger.

The antelope permit ($245) provides two tags, a buck and a doe, and hunters can shoot one of each on this hunt. The application deadline is usually in August with the hunts occurring the 1st two weeks in October. Archery tags are unlimited and over-the-counter while rifle tags are via draw. A preference point system is in place for the rifle tags. Rifle tags are hard to draw without a preference point. Hunters may apply as a group. Hunters under the age of 16 must have a Hunter Ed card or a previous license from another state to apply.

This is beautiful country close to the Black Hills so there is lots to see and do after your hunt is over.
